The comprehensive modernization of Hillsboro High School transformed a sprawling 1960s California-style campus, updating 15 buildings. Improvements included seismic retrofits, natural lighting enhancement through new skylights, LED lighting upgrades, and comprehensive interior renovations. Complete rooftop mechanical system replacement delivered significant energy efficiency improvements.
The administration office, weight room, gym vestibule, and media center were remodeled to enhance security and functionality. Several Career Technical Education classrooms were redesigned with teacher input, including biotech, veterinary, graphic arts, and automotive programs. The project successfully balanced numerous renovations while maintaining campus operations throughout construction, demonstrating effective project phasing strategies in an active school environment.
During construction, the contractor discovered significant water intrusion issues throughout several of the buildings. Our team worked quickly to prepare a remediation strategy to allow the project to continue on schedule.
